Physiotherapy Leadership and Management Group (PLMG)

PLMG comprises many members in management and supervision roles and those who may aspire to such roles. Although members are predominately public sector, some are also from the private sector. The PLMG acts as a resource to the broader APA, advising the broader APA on policies relating to public sector and management issues, providing education events on predominantly management topics, and promoting the professional managerial role of physiotherapists.

Benefits of membership include:

  • a quarterly national eNewsletter
  • national website
  • networking with others having management or supervision roles
  • assistance and advice via our email network
  • management education opportunities
  • having a voice in determining APA directions via NPLM and the National Advisory Council

Other directions and benefits of PLMG include rapid information exchange, development of the greater management community, unified approaches and lobbying, standardisation for bench-marking activities, support for country members, and information support networks on such matters as structural challenges, benchmarking, EBP, business cases and innovations in service delivery.

State Chapters currently exist in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

Members are invited from other states and territories to join the National Group and become part of this growing community.
