Advocacy for physiotherapy and their patients

The APA is the only organisation in Australia that advocates exclusively for the interests of physiotherapists and their clients. Policy development, lobbying activities, education forums, and media activities are all critical components of the APA advocacy agenda.

APA lobbying has achieved many positive outcomes for our members over recent years including the ability to provide physiotherapy services under the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) program and increased rebates from compensable bodies. The APA is actively engaged in the Australian Government's health reform agenda and is committed to ensuring that all Australians will have access to quality physiotherapy, when and where required, to optimise health and wellbeing.

Specialisation Campaign
written by Mrs Hilary Brakewell , May 29, 2010

The advocacy team did a terrific job in mobilising members to support the APA in this campaign, and Pat Maher's vodcast was a great roundup and overview of the initiative.
