Comprehensive, high quality professional indemnity insurance at special member rates.

Guild Insurance in conjunction with the APA has developed a professional liabilities and business insurance package, tailored for physiotherapists.
This is the only professional liability insurance policy that the APA refers members to.

The Guild Insurance policy covers all members for the full scope of physiotherapy practice. The APA has received legal advice which indicates that APA members who have policies that contain specific exclusions on the basis of treatment techniques (i.e. manipulation exclusions) may not be covered in the event of a claim made following treatment that included any form of manual therapy such as mobilisations, Mulligan techniques, massage etc. APA members are strongly encouraged to avoid policies that contain ‘manipulation’ exclusions.

Guild Insurance has worked closely with the APA to examine the risks involved in the physiotherapy profession. One result of this process is the publication of GuildWatch – Risk Management for Physiotherapists. The purpose of the publication is to help you understand the risks you face as a physiotherapist, and to help you to take steps to minimise the likelihood of legal action taken against you. GuildWatch has been developed through the combined expertise of Guild risk management experts and solicitors, together with the APA Claims Review Committee. This publication is available free of charge for those who register at: www.guildifs.com.au.

With Guild insurance you can benefit from the following special features:
