Your career pathway

Develop your career pathway by joining the APA National Groups. The APA has fourteen National Groups covering a range of areas of physiotherapy practice. National Groups offer students news and information about areas of physiotherapy practice, including about career pathways within physiotherapy.

As a first and second year student you will receive information from all National Groups via one succinct email helping you learn more about these specialist areas. Third and fourth year students can join individual groups to receive regular email updates on their field of interest.

National Groups provide members with a pathway to specialisation in their area of practice. Members who develop their skills and knowledge in an area of practice are recognised with titled membership on the path to specialisation and fellowship of the Australian College of Physiotherapy where appropriate.
