Journal of Physiotherapy is the official journal of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. The Editorial Board’s mission is to publish significant research which has important implications for physiotherapy. Our vision is for the journal to be the pre-eminent international publication of the science and practice of physiotherapy. With a 2009 Impact Factor of 1.709, JoP ranks second among general journals of physiotherapy. Journal of Physiotherapy is indexed on MEDLINE and 14 other international indices, thus ensuring a worldwide readership. Circulation is approximately 12 000 print copies. The journal’s popular Critically Appraised Papers appear in translation in partnership with journals in France, Germany, Norway and Holland. By arrangement selected papers also appear in translation in the official journals of the professional associations in Brazil and Iran, on a website in Poland, and in the teaching program in Afghanistan. Papers are supplemented electronically by downloadable eAddenda which provide datasets, trial protocols, and additional information for interested readers. Papers from the four most recent issues of the journal are available only to APA members and JoP subscribers; papers from all other issues (back to Vol 1 No 1) are freely available from this website. Journal of Physiotherapy is also available free to institutions in qualifying countries under the WHO HINARI initiative. The Editorial Board welcomes submissions that conform to the journal’s author guidelines.
