  • Agree to abide by the APA Constitution and Code of Conduct
  • Are of good fame and character and a fit and proper person to be a member of the Association
  • Have not had recorded against them a criminal conviction
  • Have not had a ruling of unprofessional conduct, professional misconduct or unsatisfactory professional conduct (or similar) or a finding of grounds for disciplinary action (or similar) by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia or its equivalent or by their industry Registration Board.
  • Principal place of practice, for a registered health practitioner, means the address declared by the practitioner to be the address:
    • at which the practitioner is predominantly practising the profession;
    • or if the practitioner is not practising the profession or is not practising the profession predominantly at one address, that is the practitioner's principal place of residence

  • Member will be overseas for more than six months of the membership year

  • Member is undertaking full time post-graduate study and not working more than an average of 8 hours

  • Member applies for financial hardship by direct application to and approval of the local Branch Manager

  • Is in their second year out from receiving a qualification that is approved by, or gained from an institution that is accredited by, a prescribed Australian Physiotherapists regulating body.

  • Completed an APA approved accredited training program or qualification being: -Completion, or in the process of completing, a Certificate IV Allied Health (Physiotherapy) or equivalent;or -Minimum Certificate III Allied Health (Physiotherapy) and is working as a PTA or
    -Worked as a PTA for 5 Years as vouched for by an APA-Member employer; or
    -An international physiotherapy graduate not eligible for Australian registration and working as a PTA
