Rural and remote health practitioners are eligible for grants of up to $500,000 to improve the delivery of services in their communities. The funding is available to health practitioners who want to establish, continue and/or enhance the delivery of privately insurable health services are eligible under the grant guidelines. To apply for funding to improve your infrastructure, you must be a private practitioner practicing in an area that is within the Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) Remoteness Areas (RA) 2 to 5 with a population of up to 20,000. You can check the classification of your practicing at doctorconnect. Physiotherapists in private practice can use the funding for capital improvements such as expansion or refurbishment that enhances service provision, or for equipment purchase or upgrade, including such things as practice equipment; technology upgrades; patient information management systems; and videoconferencing equipment. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and small private hospitals are also eligible to apply for funding under this program. |
