Call for Nominations – Indigenous Health Committee

The Indigenous Health Committee (IHC) — a management expert advisory committee of the Australian Physiotherapy Association — is calling for expressions of interest to undertake a term of office from 1 January 2010 until 31 December 2011. Indigenous physiotherapists are encouraged to apply.

Nominations close 4 p.m., Friday, 6 November 2009.

All nominees must be non-student and financial APA members.

Five committee positions will be vacant as from 31 December 2009.

The committee comprises six to eight members; and its role is to develop policy and provide advice to the Board on Indigenous health issues. The IHC also works to raise awareness of these issues within the Association and to promote information sharing. For more information about the IHC go to:

The committee meets via teleconference on a number of occasions throughout the year (as determined by the group) and also meets face-to-face for one day over a weekend. During their term, IHC members are expected to contribute a small amount of time, expertise and energy. The committee is supported by an APA staff member from the national office.
