The Australian Physiotherapy Association Board of Directors is delighted to announce that Kathy Grudzinskas was recently elected to the Board and will commence her two-year term on 1 January 2010. President Pat Maher said “Kathy Grudzinskas is no stranger to positions of leadership and her vast experience will be of great advantage in her new role with the APA.” Kathy’s longstanding commitment to the physiotherapy profession is exemplified in numerous leadership roles such as Director of Physiotherapy Services at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Deputy Chairperson of the Physiotherapists Board of Queensland and Australian Physiotherapy Council Deputy Chairperson. Throughout her career, Kathy has held a variety of posts in clinical physiotherapy, including Chief Physiotherapist for the Southern Domiciliary Care and Rehabilitation Service in Adelaide. In 1995 she became Director of Physiotherapy Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she continues to manage the services provided by over 100 department staff. “Thirty years as a Member of the APA, together with her extensive physiotherapy experience provides Kathy with an unique insight into the profession and what physiotherapists value in their APA membership,” said Pat Maher. ”Kathy has held numerous positions related to the Physiotherapy Leadership and Management (PLM) group, most recently as the PLM National Committee Chair and the National Advisory Council representative and she will add another valuable voice to the strategic direction of the APA.” Contact: Danielle Elston 0423 208 289 Download the media release here. |
